Arjun Trivedi

Arjun Trivedi has a PhD in Physics and for 15 years he worked in some of the
world’s leading scientific and engineering institutions. He grew up in the tea plantations of Assam and recently returned to respond to the socio economic, political and environmental challenges being faced by its people and the tea industry of Assam as a whole. He co-founded Karunar Kheti Trust (with Mineswar Dutta) to works towards empowering the tea plantation communities of Assam as a vital pillar of a wholesome solution for creating peace and prosperity for the tea industry and its people. The author would like to acknowledge the contribution of Gaurav Sarma in writing this article, from discussions that helped bring to words key experiences that had made a dwelling in the subconscious to proofreading and editing. Gaurav is an independent researcher based in Assam specializing in tea plantation labour.
