Kinnari Pandya

Kinnari Pandya is faculty member in the School of Education at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. Her two decades of work integrates theory, practice and research on a spectrum of issues related to overall quality of educational systems in India. She has contributed as a technical member for drafting public policy and curricula.Kinnari has also led development of higher education programs such as an MA in ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) , an MA in Education, an integrated teacher education program, and continuous teacher professional development programs. She has been conducting research, and writing, in these areas regularly. Her current doctoral research at University of Helsinki, Finland, focuses on understanding superdiversity of worldviews in Indian ECCE settings and belonging in young children.

Kinnari has co-edited ‘Teaching the young: the early childhood development profession in India (2024)’ and ‘Education for the foundational stage: play and early learning environments (2025)’. She hosts a webinar series organized by Azim Premji University on ‘The first 1000 days and beyond’ that focuses on advocating the centrality of the quality of ECCE professionals for overall societal well-being.
